9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ;

11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

12 But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened to me have fallen out rather to the furtherance of the gospel;

13 So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;

14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, becoming confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

1:12But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things [which happened] unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

1:12Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.

1:12Now, brethren, I desire you should know, that the things which have happened to me, have fallen out rather to the furtherance of the gospel:

1:12But I would have you know, brethren, that the circumstances in which I am have turned out rather to the furtherance of the glad tidings,

1:12And I wish you to know, brethren, that the things concerning me, rather to an advancement of the good news have come,
